Let’s start the fight with the price comparison. As it was already said, that these two cars are competing in the under $25K category, then we can consider them as fairly affordable. The 2013 model of Mazda 6 is priced $23,300 while the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu $22,390. Let’s now see what are the hearts of these two cars. From the inner side Mazda 6 got the nice and powerful 2.5L 170hp I4. Though Chevrolet went further even though staying with the same volume, as it has 2.5L 197hp I4. The difference in 24 ponies gives some extra points to Chevrolet in this fight. And at the summing up part we have the fuel economy characteristic. If we are to judge here, then none of these two models is that fuel-safe, as they can offer just around 21-23 mpg in the city and about 30-32 on the highway. Yes, the numbers are quite ok, though the Nissan, that can be also considered in this line can offer 5mpg more on each.
So in the end Chevrolet wins the fight.
