New Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover Fight

June 30, 2012 at 09:19

The new car fight for today will be between two great SUVs. The upper-scale autos of the market are the Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover. Therefore their models, especially M-Class and the Land Rover LR4, are supposedly the best offering on the market right now. Therefore let’s see, what we can see from today’s fight that we can use for our future choice of the auto.

Starting from the price perspective, let’s see what’s the best offering from these two 2012 models. Both of them are available on the market $48,900. However, we thought that Land Rover will be priced a little higher, it seems though the price was artificially lowered to beat the competition. In terms of the engine in the base model, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class comes with the 3.5L 302hp V6. It seems to be quite a good offering, however, if we compare with the Land Rover it seems to be really lagging behind. The LR4 model of 2012 comes with the 5.0L 375hp V8. A relatively big difference we must say. However, bigger amount of ponies seems to be offset with the amount of fuel needed to run some additional miles. Land Rover, as previously and seems to be tradinitionally, is very bad in fuel economy, it offers just 12 mpg in city and 17 on highway, while Mercedes-Benz can get you at least 5 miles further.

So even though not ideally, but Land Rover wins the fight today.
