When we hear about convertible type of vehicle we already image the great models of the upper-scale cars like Aston Martin, Maserati, Lamborghini and other. Though great convertibles are not just among the super-sport car names. And today’s fight will show that some of the not so acknowledged convertibles have something worthwhile to show. We present to you the fight between 2012 BMW 1-Series and 2012 Ford Mustang the convertible version.

Starting with price we can already predict that new BMW will cost a little more, as it is quite expected of a good and new German car. Therefore for luxury of 1-Series you will have to pay $36,900 at least. For the great American you will pay a little less, $34,700, though still a considerable sum. Now let’s see the engine. BMW got for itself a nice and neat 3.0L 230hp I6. Though Ford is really trying to beat everyone here as its core is 5.0L 412hp V8 – great, powerful and super fast! On the fuel economy, for sure Ford will lay behind couple of mpg in each section, though BMW is not that far away offering 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
