Germans’ Fight: BMW vs Porsche

From one side we have new and elegant BMW 6-Series from the year 2013 and on the other side we’ve got another German marquee from not less elegance and style, the Porsche 911 also from 2013. Both cars are of a coupe type and considered as the top-class vehicles for the high-class people. Therefore be ready for quite high numbers in all specifications. Let’s see what we can learn from that fight of German legends of automotive industry.

On the price Porsche costs about $10,000 more, most probably it is for the exclusive and very conservative German name, that you are charged this much more. Though for BMW you will pay $76,000. Let’s now see what we can get from the engine’s side. BMW is equipped with the standard engine of 3.0L 315hp I6, but Porsche got for itself the 3.4L 350hp H6. On that high of a scale the difference can be quite big. Though Porsche appears to be not that much of an economic car, as on the fuel economy it can get 18 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway, while BMW 6-Series gets as far as 21 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway.

So in the end we have quite a tight result here. We would be happy to give the victory for both, but we still choose the BMW, as the classic German appears to have more efficient power-price ration than the Porsche.
