July 20, 2012 at 09:47

It was a tough decision for us also, we had to get ready and decided to bring on the fight between two luxury coupes. So we have the new 2012 Chevrolet Corvette from one side, and not less exclusive coupe on the other side is the 2012 Dodge Challenger. Both cars are considered most close competitors for each other, therefore let’s see how much they differ and which one will get the crown in the end.

Starting with price, as it was pretty obvious, the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette costs at least $5,000 more. This car will cost you a little under $50,000, while Dodge Challenger will cost $44,125. Then, if we look at the engine, it becomes quite a surprise. Chevrolet has 6.2L 430hp V8, while Dodge is equipped with 6.4L 470hp V8. On this scale difference in volume in the number of ponies is stunning. We are talking about the two great coupes, therefore even a single pony would be important for us. Though on the fuel economy side Dodge, as always, loses around 3 mpg in each sense, having just 14 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Chevrolet goes as far as 16 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

So in the end, even though it was a very difficult decision, Dodge wins!
