Convertibles Fight: BMW 3-Series vs Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class

Today we will present you the fight between two great German automakers. We know how Germans feel about the competition that exists in their market segments, therefore we can find great models in every car type, and these models are constantly upgrading and tuned in order to beat the competitor. Therefore sometime fights between German cars are so interesting to watch. So let’s see how new 2013 year convertible BMW 3-Series will fight with 2013 model of Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.

Both models are priced pretty high, BMW having the price tag of $47,200, while new Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class would be a little cheaper with the price level set at the $42,900. Though, the question about price is not the main one in these kinds of fights. Let’s see what these cars have under the hood. New BMW is equipped with 3.0-Liter I6 engine with 24 valves that is capable of 230-horsepower at 6500 level of torque, while new Mercedes-Benz got the 1.8-Liter I4 engine with 16 valves, that produces 201-horsepower @ 5500 level of torque. Both cars are equipped with 6-speed automatic. Mercedes-Benz is more fuel efficient offering 5-6 mpg more in each section.

So in the end, sadly enough, we have to admit that new BMW wins the fight!
