Coupe vs Hatchback: Mitsubishi vs Scion

August 9, 2012 at 09:32

Even though we do not usually bring into the fight two totally different trim types and therefore the car types, but this one would be an exception as these two cars are really standing close together and can perform quite an interesting fight if we bring them in one to one. So we will witness today the fight of 2012 model of Mitsubishi Eclipse and also 2012th model of Scion TC. Eclipse being the coupe car type and Scion – the hatchback.

The price of thos two cars is really similar and comes close to the $19,500 and maybe a little up towards $20,000, though usually their prices are also tide together so you will not fight such a big difference in here. And the engines are also quite similar, though we managed to see the important differences if we look close enough. New Mitsubishi is equipped with 2.4L 162hp I4, which is quite enough if we think about the power. Though interestingly enough Scion TC got more power with its 2.5L 180hp I4. And as we see, the volume is also a bit bigger. On the fuel economy Scion is also far more economic as it can go as far as 23 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway, while Mitsubishi goes with 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

No matter how we would love Mitsubishi Eclipse, we have to say that Scion won the fight!
