Crossovers are hot, but they are too expensive. If you decided to change the priorities and buy a classic wagon, you can gain from the price, and fuel consumption. Most drivers are simply dreaming of a big car. But the dream of a solid car with a powerful engine collapses on daily use, in which a powerful machine will swallow the extra liters of fuel, and the huge dimensions hinder maneuvering in heavy city traffic and tight parking spaces.

Wagons with diesel engines are practical, efficient and perfectly maneuvering in urban everyday life. And what is more important – they are not so expensive. You can stuff its trunks with half of your household goods, and still have enough of power to travel comfortably around town or on the suburban express line. For example, the Skoda Octavia Combi has 105 hp, but it easily overcomes the mark of 200 km / h. In this case the manufacturer promises a normalized cycle consummation of 3.8 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers.

As for Astra – though it has more power (110 hp) it slowly rides and in the rear there is less of room for a luggage. Therewith it weighs heavier which prevents acceleration and increases the consumption of gasoline.
Skoda looks out of time and it means more than bright style of rival Astra. As for me, Skoda is the obvious winner: it’s cheaper, faster, more efficient and looks more representative.
