September 13, 2012 at 09:20

As we are pretty much attracted by big cars, as we see them as the great status image and also additional symbol of your wealth and social position, we therefore are pretty interested in the modern trends in the bigger-sized cars. So let’s welcome a new fight that we have prepared for you, the new clash between two midsize SUVs, and in the left corner we see new 2013 Ford Edge that is yet fresh and young, and on the other side is the 2013 Mazda CX-9 model, as well as young but not less powerful!

The prices of these two models are pretty different. New Ford Edge will be a little more costly than we expected, with the price tag set at $36,800. At the same time Japanese automakers seem to be setting records in the low-priced high quality cars, as new Mazda will cost you just $29,700. Under the hood these two cars can truly surprise you. New and more expensive Ford is equipped with 3.5-Liter V6 engine with 24 valves, that produces 285-horsepower @ 6500 level of torque. New Mazda at the same time got for itself a 3.70-Liter V6 engine with also 24 valves, that is capable of giving 273-horsepower @ 6250 level of torque. Not a big difference for such a price gap. And in terms of fuel economy cars are pretty similar with 17-18mpg / 24-25 mpg.

So in the end we vote for the best offer of price, characteristics and quality! New Mazda wins!
