SUV Fight Once Again: Nissan vs Toyota

As we have noticed that Japanese Sport Utility Vehicles are quite popular among the nowadays car owners, we decided to give you one more portion of a fight between two cars of such a type. Nissan wanted to try once again and today 2012 Nissan Murano will clash with 2012 Toyota Highlander. We know that these two models can show us a worthwhile fight, so let’s bring it on!

In terms of price, Japanese try to stay as close as possible. The price of a new Toyota Highlander is $28,000 while as we know from the previous post, Nissan Murano will cost you a little higher, around $29,900. Though, big difference awaits if we look at the engine. Toyota Highlander in its base model is equipped with standard engine of 2.7L I4 with 16 valves that is capable of 187-horsepower @ 5800 of torque. Nissan Murano in turn got a lot more power, with 3.5L V6 and 24 valves that is capable of 260-horsepower @ 6000. However Toyota got more fuel economy, having 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, which is 2 mpg more than Nissan.

So now we can see that Nissan tried really hard and now actually wins the fight with Toyota!
