November 25, 2012 at 09:12

Wagons are the cars that appear to be extremely useful for big families, especially if they also have some pets. Maybe right now we are thinking that wagons are not that easy in maneuvering and are not good fit for the city space and roads, though they still stay in the top lines of the ranking of best car types. Therefore today we are looking at two quite interesting wagons, one of them is the 2012 Dodge Caliber SE and the other one is 2012 Volvo V50 T5.

The fight begins with the overview of the prices. So new Dodge Caliber is quite an affordable model if we come to think of a good wagon car. Its price is just $17,500. Though new Volvo seems to be a whole level higher, as its price is about $29,000. New Dodge got the 2.0-Liter 4-cylinder engine with the power of 158-horsepower. While new Volvo is a more powerful vehicle with the core of 2.5-Liters and 5-cylinders as well as with the power output of 227-horsepower. However new Dodge is more economic in terms of fuel, as it offers 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, while new Volvo can give us just 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

So in the end we must say that Volvo got us thinking quite hard, though right now people do not need big cars with big volume, eating lost of fuel and that cost two times more than the good and really worthwhile offering like Dodge Caliber. Therefore Dodge wins the fight today!
