Today we continue our fight between two great hybrid Japanese cars: 2012 Lexus CT Hybrid and 2012 Toyota Prius C. We understand that it is not that usual to see these two cars fighting, as the difference in class and also in the target market segment is very big, though we though that it will be quite interesting to see, how these two models will compete with each other.

From the last release we learned about the pricing of these two models and now we will look at the engine. In this section, to your surprise or not, the difference is not that big. In this situation new Lexus CT Hybrid is equipped with 1.8-Liter I4 with 16 valves that is capable of 134-horsepower @ 5200 of torque. In turn Toyota Prius C got the 1.5-Liter I4 engine with 16 valves which is capable of 99-horsepower @ 4800 level of torque. The difference is still big, though not critical. It could have been even bigger, though we must say, that for the premium-class vehicle Lexus is not that perfectly equipped with power output and speed. Both models are equipped with automatic transmission system. Though Prius offers much more in fuel economy with 53 mpg in the city and 46 mpg on the highway, while Lexus has 43 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.

So in the end we still will not say who is the winner, as these two models are greatly different, though we hope we gave you some impression on both of them!
