November 29, 2012 at 09:07

Compact cars are conquering the market, but we shall not forget that there is also one more quite interesting segment market of mini cars or as we also usually call them – the super compacts. Let’s see the fight of the two models from this models pack, one of the models you can know quite good already, as it is becoming more and more popular nowadays, but the other one is a result fo the great engineering and design excellence of Japanese auto manufacturers. Let’s welcome the 2012 Smart ForTwo and also interesting model of 2012 Mitsubishi I MiEV.

The prices of these two models are greatly different. For the price of one Mitsubishi, which has a tag of $29,120, you can buy for yourself two Smarts, as the price of the latter is just $14,690. Though the reason for such a price discrepancy is quite understandable. New Mitsubishi is a hybrid model with a core of electric and gas unit, which is connected to all four wheels. Therefore even though the total power output of the car is about 66-horsepower, the fuel economy rates are magnificent, it offers 126 mpg in the city and 99 mpg on the highway. New Smart in turn got the 1.0-Liter 70-hp I3 engine and offers fairly good ratios of 34 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway.
