Next step in our test drive is controllability.
Manageability we evaluated in standard tests with zipper and double shifting, which is also known as the “moose” test.
It is interesting that before we were sure that the Mazda3 with all its visual and subjective sportiness tuck Civic, which is “not the same” on both blades. But it is not so simple.

Results of the Snake test:
The snake considered subjective feelings driver from passing the test and the final speed. Subjectively on Honda Civic snake go much easier. Steering transparent, the way he holds better though and roll heart. Perhaps it is because of this and it is easier to control, as long-travel suspension keeps the wheels on the pavement. Mazda3 rides rather nervously, management less transparent, slip occur very early, and even back often seeks to overtake. But in the end on the Mazda3 still get to drive the snake quickly.

Impressions from the drive.
Mazda3 is bright. Despite the fact that on paper is weaker motor for 20 hp, the technology SkyActive really work and grab better. And the modern six-speed gearbox slightly against the fossil in a five-speed Honda Civic also does the job. For a complete happiness Mazda3 lack only the sport mode of the gear box, this is still set to a greater extent on fuel economy than a dynamic ride. However, if it regularly pricks, it adapts to the driving style of the driver. Again, you can use the paddle shifters. Yet to call the car a truly dynamic does not work, really miss her a new two-liter engine, which we have already met in the CX-5 and Mazda6.
