Today we decided to see how good are the Japanese sedans. Even though we usually look at the Japanese cars in the fights in our releases, we still have to admit that there is a lot more than just our offerings, as these great automakers truly know what they are doing. Therefore today we present you a great fight between the new 2012 Honda Fit and also new and fresh 2012 Toyota Corolla, the most popular Japanese sedans that we have met.

These two cars are placed in relatively affordable car section, as their invoice price doesn’t get higher than $18,000. For the base model of Honda Fit you will have to pay around $15,325, while new Toyota Corolla will be a little more expensive with the base price of $17,900. Now let’s see what they have at core. New Honda Fit got the 1.5-Liter I4 engine with 16 valves and 117 @ 6600 horsepower at RPM ratio. Corolla at the same time got the 1.8-Liter I4 also with 16 valves and 132 @ 6000 horsepower at RPM ratio, not that big of a difference we must say. At the fuel economy they both are quite similar, having 26-27 mpg in the city and 33-34 mpg on the highway.

Therefore in the end we have to say that Toyota wins! A little more money, but more characteristics.
