Sense and Sensibility: Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and Land Rover Range Rover Part I

February 3, 2015 at 16:04

After the Range Rover in the Mercedes-Benz GL you literally fall – almost like in a passenger car.
But the doorway in the vertical direction is much larger and you do not have to bend down your head to get in.
The main thing – to safely pass the bandwagon: it is so slippery that you can not get there inside so easy.
In the cabin, again in contrast to the Range Rover, you feel like a tank.
Landing at the wheel low, almost passenger, front panel and window sills are high, and the upper limit of the windshield visor is hanging over your forehead.
Exacerbating thick A-pillars and small mirrors – visibility is not very good.

The driver’s seat has a much denser packing than the opponent, and the ideal profile. In addition, in the menu interface, you can configure everything: form cushion length to girth of the hips, and so much more, including four types of massage.

As in the Range Rover, there are everywhere leather and wood. Skin is rough compared with the English SUV, and the build quality is noticeably higher interior panels. More attention is paid to the smallest detail – all sorts of buttons, levers look more expensive than the Range Rover. But here’s the feeling aristocratic gloss, which is present in the English SUV, the German car does not.
